AI assist editor app

Four one-click writing tools that make every text message you send sharper, faster, and unmistakably yours.

You know what you want your text message to say. Typing it is the easy part.

It’s everything after that takes the time. From reading it back, catching the typo, adding a greeting to sound professional, the half-second pause where you wonder if that sounded short. That cycle of editing there on every text message you send, every day.

Assist AI clears it out of the way. Four tools — Proof, Tone, Expand, and Shorten — sitting right above your message composer, one click or tap each.

No prompt to write. No blank box. Nothing to open in another tab. You write the message the way you always have, click once, and it’s ready to go. Then you’re on to the next one.

Some text messages need more than a quick pass, though. Telling a customer their warranty won’t cover the repair without sounding like a door closing. Turning three scribbled facts into a reply that reads like you wrote it on your best day. That’s craft, the kind of writing that takes a professional a few minutes and the rest of us a few tries.

Tone and Expand do that part for you. Not a rough draft to fix up, but a version written the way a good writer would write it, ready in about a second. Read it, tweak it, or click again for a different take.

It’s the same workflow you have now, minus the friction, plus the editor you’d hire for everyone on your team if you could.

Speed you can keep

The tools sit in a row above your message in both the Leadferno web and mobile app. The Assist AI features become visible as you start typing. One click runs the action. Text streams into the preview as it’s generated, so you’re reading the result in seconds instead of watching a spinner spin.

That speed is the point, not a nice-to-have. An editing tool that takes four seconds is a tool you stop opening — you’d rather send the imperfect draft than break your rhythm. Assist AI is built to be faster than the decision to skip it. Proof is quick enough to become a reflex: write, click, send, next.

AI text message editor

Your personal AI powered editor tools

Two of these tools give you back a few seconds. The other two do something you’d otherwise need a writer for. Here’s what each one actually does.

Proof

Spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization. Nothing else.

You wrote: hey- i wnt be able to make it tues, cn we push to thrusday? sorry for the inconvience
Proof returns: Hey- I won't be able to make it Tuesday. Can we push to Thursday? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Look at what didn’t change. “Hey” stayed “Hey.” The message wasn’t promoted into something more formal, no sentences were reordered, no synonyms swapped in.

Proof makes the smallest set of corrections that fixes the errors and then stops, the way a good copy editor works, and the reason you can click it without re-reading the result. The specific changes are highlighted and a total edit count is provided with the opportunity to Undo the edits or make further changes before sending.

And when there’s nothing to fix, it tells you so and leaves your draft alone rather than inventing a change to look busy.

Tone

Ai Tone editor tool

Four registers, each with a specific job:

  • Professional: Neutral-formal, complete sentences, no slang
  • Friendly: Warm and conversational, contractions welcome
  • Empathetic: Acknowledges the situation before delivering the substance
  • Direct: Shortest clear path to the point, no hedging

Empathetic earns its keep on the messages nobody enjoys writing:

You wrote: Your warranty doesnt cover that. You'll need to pay for the repair.
Empathetic returns: I understand this isn't the answer you were hoping for. Unfortunately this particular repair falls outside your warranty coverage, so it would be billed separately. I'm happy to walk you through the estimate.

Same answer. Same policy. No fault admitted and no goodwill discount invented, just delivered in a way that doesn’t land like a door closing. That’s the difference between a customer who accepts the answer and a customer who escalates.

Expand

You know the three facts. You’d rather not write the paragraph that goes around them.

You wrote: crew coming wed. bring dog inside. gate access needed
Expand returns: Hi Fred- just confirming that our crew is scheduled to come out on Wednesday.

A couple of quick things to help the visit go smoothly:
- Please bring your dog inside.
- We’ll need access to the gate.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Now read the output for what’s missing: no arrival window, no technician name, no estimate of how long it’ll take. Expand builds structure and courtesy around the facts you supplied. It does not add facts. If your note is ambiguous, it stays ambiguous rather than guessing — and it will never leave a [TIME] placeholder sitting in a message that’s about to go out.

Shorten

The counterweight, and the fix for the copy-paste problem of longer form content or a wordy paragraph or two. Drop in the return policy, click Shorten, and get something a customer will actually read:

Return Policy: 30 days from delivery, item unused and in original packaging. Ship it back with the packing slip and we'll refund to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. Custom orders can't be returned.

Every condition survived. The run-on prose became scannable lines. The Shorten tool isn’t activated until you have at least 40 words in your message.

You approve everything

Just as the feature’s name implies, the AI is there to Assist you and you are still in control on accepting or undoing the edit, manually editing it further, and choosing to send the text message.

Proof works the same everywhere. The words and punctuation it changed are highlighted right in your composer, so you can see exactly what it touched, along with a count of how many changes it made.

If something isn’t what you wanted, an Undo button sits there for about ten seconds and puts your original back.

On web, Tone, Expand, and Shorten show the Assist AI version above your composer with your original still sitting below it. Read them side by side, then Approve it, hit the refresh icon to try again, or click Cancel to keep what you had. Nothing changes in your composer until you say so.

Ai editor professional tone

On mobile, where there’s no room for two versions at once, the Assist AI version replaces your draft in the composer and an alert offers Undo. Same decision with fewer taps. You’re reading the result rather than choosing between two blocks of text on a small screen.

Whatever you keep is just text. Edit it, run another tool on it, chain a few together — Expand, then Tone, then Proof. Nothing gets locked, and nothing sends on its own.

Empty composer? The tools stay quiet. If you’d rather write every word yourself, nothing about your day changes.

An editor who never changes the facts

An editor you can’t trust is slower than no editor at all, because you have to re-read everything anyway. So Assist AI treats certain things as untouchable, and verifies them after every single rewrite:

  • Numbers — prices, quantities, measurements, invoice and order numbers
  • Dates and times, including time zones and day names
  • Names — customers, colleagues, companies, products, models
  • Addresses, phone numbers, emails, and links
  • Merge tags like {{first_name}}
  • Required legal strings, including opt-out language

Beyond preserving those, Assist AI won’t introduce a commitment, price, time window, or guarantee you didn’t write. It won’t flip can to can’t or approved to pending.

One voice across the whole team

Individually, better messages. Collectively, something more useful: a team that sounds like one company.

There are three settings, and only three.

On or off. A single toggle for Assist AI across your organization. It’s on, or it isn’t — no matrix of per-tool permissions to maintain, and no decisions to revisit every time someone new joins.

Brand Tone. Describe how your company sounds in your own words. Words you want used, words you never want to see, the specifics of your voice. Whether you say “customer” or “client,” whether you sign off warm or plain, whether you’d rather sound like a neighbor than a corporation. Assist AI applies it on top of whichever tone the writer picks, so a Friendly message and a Direct one still sound like they came from the same company.

This is the setting worth doing on day one (and expand or refine it anytime). It’s what closes the gap between your most experienced writer and your newest hire, and it does it without a style guide anyone has to read.

Dictionary. Create and manage a list of words Assist AI leaves alone. Your product names, model numbers, industry shorthand, the deliberately unusual spelling in your company name. Words that a well-meaning editor would “correct” and shouldn’t in your use case. Add it once and it survives every rewrite, untouched, exactly as you typed it.

Between the two, Brand Tone tells Assist AI how to sound like you, and Dictionary tells it where to keep its hands off.

Getting started with Assist AI

Assist AI is available now in both the web and mobile app. Admins will find the controls in Settings → AI Features.

There’s nothing to install and nothing to configure before you try it. Open a thread, write a message the way you always do, and click one button before you send.

That’s the whole ask. A typo caught before a customer sees it, a hard message that lands gently instead of landing badly, three scribbled facts turned into a reply you’d be proud to have your name on.

None of it costs you more than a second, and all of it adds up. Your customers won’t know you used Assist AI. They’ll just notice that you’re quick, that you’re clear, and that you sound like a company that has its act together.

Go write your next message and click once before you send it. You’ll feel the difference on the very first one.
