In a 36-day website optimization test for Fox Pest Control, Leadferno’s text messaging widget was pitted against a traditional “click to call” CTA and contact flow. The results were jaw dropping.

  • 🔥 That’s a 201% increase in conversion rate—from 4.17% to 12.58%

The only change between the control and the variant of the CRO test? Adding Leadferno’s “Text With Us” conversion widget to the site. This widget, called the Leadbox, offers visitors the option to connect via SMS instead of just by phone. Notably, call volume remained flat, proving that Leadferno’s conversion widget generated net-new leads rather than cannibalizing existing ones.

What is an average conversion rate?

The conversion rate Leadferno produces for Fox Pest Control at 12.58% are superior when compared to website conversion averages. The Institute of Data shared that the average landing page converts at just 2.35%. The top 25% of landing pages achieve conversion rates of 5.31% or higher, and the real leaders, the top 10%, are converting at an impressive 11.45% and above.

A 2025 study breaks it down further by sharing how specific marketing channels convert like SEO, paid ads, social media, and email marketing for both B2C and B2B. Here we see the average conversion rate sub 2%.
